The Improved Business and Investment Climate in West Africa Project is a regional technical assistance project aimed at fostering private sector competitiveness and facilitating investment flows as a basis for sustainable regional development.

The five-year project (2014-2019) is funded by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank Group in collaboration with the Private Sector Directorate of ECOWAS Commission. It supports the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the West African Monetary Union (WAEMU/UEMOA) and West African member states to address a range of investment policy and investment climate issues that constitute barriers for the private sector to invest efficiently across the region.
